On 30th October, 2025, Aapti Institute and GIZ GmbH hosted the third and final virtual stakeholder consultation on data work and content moderation. After our conversations on Africa and Southeast Asia, the last event in this series discussed South Asia, bringing together perspectives from labour, research, law, and advocacy. The event’s proceedings covered the working conditions and problems affecting data workers and content moderation, the algorithmic management present in their work environments, and the issues arising out of the sectors’ outsourced and transnational nature.

As this series concludes, we look forward to the emergence of new initiatives and conversation on data work, content moderation, tech companies’ global pipelines of labour, and pursuing accountability in these labour sectors. We would love to hear from interested individuals and groups, and can be emailed via [email protected].
