On May 7, 2025, Aapti Institute convened a multi-stakeholder roundtable in Bangalore to discuss the future of bike taxi regulation in Karnataka. The event responded to the High Court’s directive to suspend services pending regulatory clarity. Participants—including civil society organisations, policy experts, worker representatives, and aggregator platforms—examined the operational, legal, and socio-economic dimensions of bike taxis. This policy brief presents key insights and actionable recommendations to support the development of a balanced, inclusive regulatory framework. The event was undertaken in partnership with Rapido.
